About me
My name is Wyna; I am excited to start this new journey of blogging and design making. So many things all at once! Not even to mention getting wholly submerged in the quest of setting up a website and blog.

As my start day, 6 July 2021, is drawing closer, I am realising more and more how much these studies will change the way I think and experience life. I am excited to know it is going to make me a better designer and artist. I have been astonished by the students’ blogs, spending hours reading about their creative process and how they get to the final product.
My creative journey started in high school when I went to art school in Johannesburg, South Africa, doing two art subjects, Graphic Design and Painting. We did painting, drawing and printing, during school, after school and sometimes right through the night.
I have mostly done traditional art, specialising in painting, etching, silkscreening, lino printing, drawing and even woodblock printing, a bit like William Morris and the Art and Craft movement going against the Industrial Revolution in today’s digital world.
Fast forward to today; after so many years have passed, I have developed a keen interest in rekindling my art. I worked as an Interior Designer most of my working life and became a full-time mother when our children were born. I love being part of a creative environment and want to learn more.
There has not been a more exciting time to be a Graphic Designer than now, with exciting new traditional mediums and digital technology opening new possibilities to create. In the back of my mind, I wonder if the other students also felt a little nervous before entering this world of constructive criticism, art-making and stereotype breaking. Feel welcome to drop me a comment and say “Hi”. I would love to hear your thoughts. xx
