Exercise 4 – Making a mood board

In this exercise, I will choose a word from the previous exercise and expand the theme and ideas by making a mood board.  I will select the word KITCHEN.

My first step was to google kitchens and establish the colours that will reflect a kitchen.  White and stainless steel is usually the predominant colours.  I have tested other colours that will associate well with a kitchen theme and included it in my storyboard.

I have collected textures and identified objects that would associate with KITCHEN and arranged them all in a storyboard format with notes and a few of my own drawings.

The overall mood reflects a modern vintage feel, especially when I added the baking pictures.  It will be effective to include cow designs and wheat pictures to identify some of the baking goods.
